APRA releases annual superannuation statistics for June 2015

The Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) has today released the first editions of annual superannuation statistics reflecting recent changes to the superannuation reporting framework.
APRA has released industry-level superannuation statistics in the Annual Superannuation Bulletin. APRA has also released fund-level data in the Annual Fund-level Superannuation Statistics report and MySuper product-level data in the Annual MySuper Statistics report.
In addition to continuing to publish statistics comparable to APRA’s previous annual publications, these revised publications include detailed information on performance, fees and member demographics at both the fund-level and MySuper product level.

The publications were proposed in a consultation in May 2015 on planned changes to APRA’s annual superannuation statistical publications. The results of the consultation were released on 9 February 2016.
These enhancements to APRA’s superannuation statistics will support and encourage analysis of whether the superannuation industry is achieving retirement income policy objectives over the medium to long term, and contribute to enhanced transparency, accountability and understanding of the industry.
