D2A 6.0
Do I have to upgrade to version 6.0 of D2A?
Yes. All reporting entities, must un-install all previous D2A versions from all computers and do a fresh installation of D2A version 6.0.
Please note D2A version 6.0 supports myID as default authentication and does not require any additional updates post installation.
When do I have to upgrade to version 6.0 of D2A?
All reporting entities must upgrade to D2A version 6.0 by 31 March 2021.
Are there any new system requirements for D2A version 6.0?
Yes, D2A version 6.0 can only be installed on a computer with a 64-bit processor and running a 64-bit Windows Operating System.
D2A version 6.0 no longer operates on a on 32-bit operating systems, please refer to the D2A system requirements page for more details and consult your IT department if you are unsure of your current system’s specifications.
As a new reporting entity, which version of D2A should I install?
New reporting entities must meet the required prerequisites (refer to the D2A Help Guide) before downloading and installing D2A version 6.0, to complete their submission requirements.
What is the difference between myID, RAM and a machine credential?
myID | The Australian Government's new digital identify provider that lets you prove who you are when using participating government services online. myID is an individual identifier. D2A administrators (Principal Authority and Machine Credential Administrator) must set up their Digital ID and obtain a myID. |

Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM) | An authorisation service that allows you to act on behalf of a business online when interacting with government services, using your myID. Entities must ensure that their business ABN is linked and administrators are authorised in Relationship Authorisation Management. |
Machine credentials | The machine credential replaced the AUSkey device certificate to support the use of desktop clients such as D2A. For D2A a Machine Credential Administrator will need to create a machine credential. |
Do I have to install D2A?
Yes. All reporting entities must download and install D2A, to complete their submission requirements.
Do I need to enter any proxy server details?
If a proxy server is used to connect to the internet, the proxy server details must be entered into D2A to allow your installation to communicate with APRA. To enter these details, navigate to the Tools menu, then Options.
Can I install D2A on more than one computer?
Yes, D2A should be installed on all computers that will be used to complete APRA forms.
Completing and submitting forms
When do I need to download new forms?
New forms must be downloaded when you first install the D2A software and then up to eight weeks before your next return is due.
If your institution’s status changes or changes are made to the forms, APRA may request you download new forms.
Why does D2A time out with 'Operation Failed'?
Please refer to the Common D2A errors page.
Where can I find out more information for a specific form?
Details of specific forms are available from the APRA website. Refer to Reporting framework for your organisation type.
Can I add more rows to a table in a form?
Yes. To add a row, right-click on the table and select Add new row.
Can I print the forms before submitting?
Yes. Forms can be printed at any time. Some forms can be printed to PDF.
Why is the Submit button greyed out?
Ensure you are submitting a whole return, rather than a single form. Only complete returns can be submitted to APRA in D2A.
How do I know that APRA has received my return?
When your data is accepted without errors, you will receive a confirmation message on the screen with a receipt number, and a confirmation email will be sent to you.
Can I re-submit a return if changes need to be made after my initial submission?
Yes, you can re-submit a return by making the required changes and submitting as usual.
