APRA welcomes feedback on the new statistics and encourages industry and other stakeholders to review the information that is published for accuracy and consistency, so that the quality of the data collection and publications continues to be enhanced.
The General Insurance Institution-level Statistics publication contains individual insurance group information about financial performance, financial position, capital adequacy and key ratios. The publication also includes financial year-end results for consolidated institutions and Lloyd's Australia.
This is the first edition of the expanded publication. The statistics were expanded to include additional statistics in an improved format, as well as to include half-yearly data on level 2 insurance groups for the first time.

Data relating to past periods are available in the database version of the publication. The database version (in a Microsoft Excel file) contains a full time series of statistics that were previously published in past editions of the General Insurance Institution-level Statistics from December 2012 to June 2016, the General Insurance Company Level Statistics from December 2010 to June 2012, and the Half Yearly General Insurance Bulletin from December 2005 to December 2009. The database version does not include the new statistics now included in the Excel version.

This paper provides an analysis of the revisions to the General Insurance Institution-level Statistics database from June 2012 to June 2014 and notes the intention to improve the identification of any future revisions.
